About the School
New Zealand's oldest university, founded in 1869, is renowned for its excellence in medicine, health sciences, biological sciences, and humanities. With approximately 22,000 students, the campus is located in scenic Dunedin on the South Island and is recognized as New Zealand's most academically traditional university. The University of Otago Medical School is the only institution in New Zealand offering clinical medical education, while its dental and pharmacy programs are also leaders in their fields.
